Withymead

Withy-20130622_1224Several tasks awaited us at Withymead today, including weaving safety barriers each side of the path over the sluice from the inlet to the Loddon lily area. We pulled large quantities of nettles from the woodland before they spread seed and removed low branches from sycamores to let in more light, both tasks to encourage the spread of woodland flowers. We encountered frogs and cardinal beetles and watched wasps building a nest in the eaves of the study centre.
