A select group of volunteers and a delegate to achieve the Duke of Edinburgh award joined forces in Parson’s Wood on a magnificent day. The Wood is overgrown with Holly and a clean up would encourage blue bells and other low growth in a beech wood. The fire trailer was ready to go and the first task was to create a path to bring the cut holly to the fire. This in itself created a lot of material and the fire crew had its hands full. Additionally to the new clearance we also managed to clean up a large part of the footpath through the wood. All in all a very successful effort, however we know we can keep ourselves busy for many sessions to come.
