The bluebells were half-open and blackthorn blossoms were a riot on Beacon Hill as our team of 9 set about removing rotten posts from a fence line. We first had to cut away all the brambles and thorns that had grown through the stock netting, not always easy on the steeply sloping ground. Past the gate the scrub had become tree-sized so progress was slow, but satisfying in the spring sunshine.
Behind the scrub cutters the rest of the team freed the stock netting from the rotten posts then drove in brand new posts. This task will be continued at our visit next month.
