It has been some time since our last visit to Parmoor, so it was encouraging to see what progress has been made in the walled garden since our initial clearance and heavy digging. There has been an excellent harvest of fruit and vegetables this year. The plum trees against the west wall which we helped to prune produced a bumper crop and the overgrown box hedges we cut back drastically have all greened up and are being shaped by Btec students.
The wet weather has brought a new crop of weeds so our task today, with 10 volunteers, was to clear them from the onion patch.
