Greys Court

A very nice morning, frosty and sunny. The tasks at Greys Court are twofold today. One group sets off to the play area and breaks down the dens that have been erected in the rea and sorts material for next year’s use. The other group starts in the woods around Greys Court to remove laurel which is overgrowing all other vegetation. We notice that we have made a large difference wince we started with this work a few years ago. Laurel is effectively pushed back to the furthest edge of the woods. The first task however is an unexpected one, as a sheep in a field bordering to the woods has its head stuck in sheep fencing. After setting it free we concentrate on the task at hand and start reducing laurel to ashes. A bonfire is tarted and once it is going the team splits up in cutting down laurel and feeding the bonfire. After the coffee break the play area team joins the effort in the woods and we make quite an impact on the remaining laurel. No photo’s this time, but I hope you can imagine the pictures.
