Our November task at Moor End Common was to cut back willow creeping from the edges of a broad open area. An owl box has been installed on a tree in the centre, and the occupants need a wide sweep to fly in, hence the need to cut back the trees on the rim. It was a wet, squelchy morning, but our 10-strong gang made some inroads into two different sections, one of which is shown here.
