This woodland site is owned by Nuffield College, Oxford and administered by Adkin land agents in Wantage and was originally part of Lord Nuffield’s Estate – the house, gardens and part of the wood being transferred to National Trust. It contains several public and permissive footpaths. Over the last 10 years we have gradually opened up the woods by removing invasive Holly and bramble to allow bluebells to flourish, and to keep the footpaths open.
The woods were used as location for filming in 2018 and the college Bursar decided that the £800 fee charged by them should be donated to the Green Gym in recognition of the “fantastic and hugely beneficial work” that SCGG have done there.
MEETING POINT either the National Trust Nuffield House car park SU, 684786 or by the offices on Lane just before NT car park SU 679879
