Site: Tartary Wood

Tartary Wood

Tartary Wood, or just Tartary as it is often known, lies in the Nettlebed Estate a little distance north of the entrance to the Estate from Rocky Lane. It is thought to have been called Tartary as the explorer Col Peter Fleming of the Fleming family who own much of the land around spent a number of years living in Tartary. It is a pleasant wood with a rich carpet of bluebells, much enhanced in recent years by the Green Gym clearing the brambles and other scrub.

Meeting Point

Drive into the Estate from Rocky Lane where it does a right-angle turn. After about quarter of a mile you will see the wood lying over to your right. Park on the left of the track leading to Bromsgrove Farm.
